Mark Price Inducted Into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame

Former Georgia Tech and NBA All-Star point guard honored at festive ceremony in Roswell

Former Georgia Tech and NBA star Mark Price was inducted into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame Saturday evening at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center.

Price, who was a two-time All-American and a four-time All-ACC point guard at Tech, carried the Yellow Jackets to national prominence during the 1980s under former head coach Bobby Cremins, winning the ACC Championship in 1985.

Other Yellow Jackets alumni selected in the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame are Cremins, John Heisman, Bobby Dodd, Roger Kaiser and Bill Curry.

Price would go on to have a 12-year NBA career, playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Bullets (now Wizards), Golden State Warriors and Orlando Magic. During his stint with the Cavaliers, he was a four-time NBA All-Star.

Other members in the class of 2011 Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame are Dr. Tim Singleton (Founder of Atlanta's Peachtree Road Race), and former Atlanta Falcons' linebacker, Jessie Tuggle (five-time NFL Pro Bowler).ย
