Marlow's Tavern Adds the Secret Sauce with Ribs & Whiskey Menu

Neighborhood Tavern Brings Back Popular Seasonal Specials

It’s time to tuck those napkins into shirt collars and get down to business with some finger-lickin’ good food. Just in time for cooler weather, Marlow’s Tavern is celebrating five years of its Ribs & Whiskey menu. From Tuesday, September 23 through Monday, October 27, diners can get into the spirit of cooler months with a variety of sauced-up seasonal fare with handcrafted cocktails and drinks.

“There is something about these hearty dishes that we all start craving in the fall,” says John C. Metz, executive chef and co-founder of Marlow’s Tavern. “Our diners enjoy classic, seasonal flavors and the Ribs & Whiskey menu meets that hankering for our customers with some satisfying dishes and, of course, some great whiskey cocktails.”

Kickin’ Chicken Verde Soup Tender chicken, fresh cilantro, roasted poblanos, tomatillos, Fall sweet corn and chili cream

Daily Smoke-House Flatbread – Slow-roasted pulled pork, basted with our secret sauces and the best ingredients the farm has to offer, served on brioche

A Pig With Buns – slow-roasted pulled pork with Jack Daniel’s Honey glaze, housemade pimento cheese, dill pickles and crispy tobacco onions on a buttery onion soft roll with Granny Smith apple-cabbage slaw

BBQ Blazed Cobb Salad – Barbecue chicken, crisp field greens, Roma tomato, apple wood-smoked bacon, sweet corn and black bean salsa, slivered red onions and barbecue gorgonzola dressing

Drunken Chicken – Prestige Farms chicken blazed with Jack Daniel’s Honey, seared fingerling potato, baby cauliflower, apple-wood smoked bacon, grainy mustard hash and housemade corn and jalapeño muffins

Marlow’s Ribs & Whiskey Hookup – Slow-cooked Smithfield James River ribs and drunken chicken with Granny Smith apple-cabbage slaw, Southern fried mac and pimento cheese and housemade sweet corn and jalapeño muffins

Slow-Cooked Smithfield James River St. Louis-Style Ribs – Served with Granny Smith apple-cabbage slaw, Southern fried mac and pimento cheese and housemade sweet corn and jalapeño muffin. Choice of favorite barbecue sauce, including Jack Daniel’s glaze, Hoisin barbecue and Marlow’s chipotle barbecue

Bourbon Bread Pudding – Crème-brulee-soaked Cuban, vanilla bean and a splash of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee honey whiskey for sippin’

Marlow’s ensures fall-off-the-bone ribs with sauce options like Jack Daniel’s glaze, perfecting the combination of sweet, spicy and smoky with a hint of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee honey whiskey; Hoisin barbecue promises an Asian blend of flavors with Hoisin, Sriracha, and rice wine, tangy with a hint of spice; and Marlow’s chipotle barbecue, classic, yet jazzed up with chipotle peppers and a touch of sweetness. To round out the meal, side items such as Granny Smith apple-cabbage slaw, Southern-fried mac and pimento cheese and housemade sweet corn and jalapeño muffins are available.

Boozy, handcrafted cocktails and adult beverages add to the Ribs & Whiskey celebration as refreshing complements to the dishes. Offerings include:

A Kick From Ginger – The original Kentucky bourbon, Old Forrester, meets the original Atlanta ginger ale, Red Rock

Georgia Peach Lemonade – Minute Maid Lemonade, peach nectar, Jack Daniel’s Honey whiskey and a frozen peach

R&W S’weet Tea – Deep Eddy Sweet Tea Vodka, fresh lemon, agave nectar, topped with a shot of Shock Top beer and a kick of orange

Villa Wolf Pinot Gris, Pfalz, Germany ’12 – Bright, fresh, tropical fruits with good depth, medium to full-body with good length and satisfying crackle

Marqués de la Concordia Rioja, Spain ‘10 – Ripe berry fruits, medium bodied and complex with a well-rounded finish and lingering berry zest

Tommy’s Red Sangria – Tommy’s secret recipe created on the boat in South Florida featuring Savida Sangria, the freshest seasonal fruit and agave nectar. Red and white options available all year long

Pabst Blue Ribbon WI ABV 4.7% – Brewed in America and served tall just like you like it, this classic beer for those with the classiest of taste, “tastes so good when it hits your lips”

Boulevard Smokestack Double-Wide IPA KC ABV 8.5%– From the heart of America, brewed in the smokestack with double the hop, double the pop, caramel, toffee like malt and amber brown, this IPA travels well and is right at home in the most exotic ports of call in the Midwest. The liberal hopping regimen does not make her virtually “Twister-Proof” with toffee and caramel notes balancing out the lingering bitterness

SweetWater Whiplash GA ABV 6.2% – What happens when 500 year old Belgian-style ale gets rear-ended by a truckload of pompous American hops? It equals one heck of an ambulance chaser of a beer. An American style Belgian IPA, with a subtle flavor in combination with citrusy, piney hops, well balanced with tart, dry finish
