Midtown Businessman Chosen for Prestigious Award

ATLANTA, GA -- Vaughn D. Irons, an Atlanta based, residential and mixed-use real estate developer, has been awarded the prestigious International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation’s John T. Riordan International Scholarship. Irons is one of 15 global leaders to receive this distinguished award. He is also the first from the state of Georgia since 2009 to receive this honor by the leading global trade association of the shopping center industry.

"I am very grateful to be selected by the ICSC Foundation as a John T. Riordan recipient. I recognize how important the retail real estate industry is to enhancing the value of a community," Irons said. "I am certain the program will augment my understanding of how to navigate the completion of retail real estate projects and make me a more accomplished development professional."

The John T. Riordan School offers a week of rigorous study where attendees will deepen their knowledge of retail property and shopping centers, learn from experts, share ideas and identify successful strategies alongside colleagues from around the world.

Irons is very active in the Atlanta community as the CEO of APD Solutions. He also serves on several Boards including the DeKalb Chamber and is a member of Leadership Atlanta’s 2016 class. As a Riordan Scholar, Irons will have all expenses covered to attend the John T. Riordan School for Professional Development in either Scottsdale, AZ or Miami, FL. The scholarship covers enrollment fees, textbooks, workbooks, airfare and hotel accommodations.

Irons and the other recipients will be honored at the Recon: The Global Real Estate Convention on Monday, May 23 in Las Vegas. The award presentation will be made at 12 noon during a luncheon at the Westgate Hotel in the Paradise Ballroom.

The ICSC John T. Riordan School is designed to provide attendees with an unparalleled curriculum that is uniquely customized with regional real estate concepts, issues and case studies.
