Midtown Mural Character Steals Some Love
PHOTOS: The fun new mural was completed on the Ravine Building, next to the Federal Reserve Bank on Peachtree Street, earlier this week.

ATLANTA, GA — There's a robbery in progress in the vicinity of the Federal Reserve Bank in Midtown Atlanta. But there's no need to call the cops — the culprit is a whimsical, two-dimensional character who just wants a little love.
Earlier this week, a mural by a street artist known simply as Kai was completed on the Ravine Building. The structure, a new, multi-use event space at 1021 Peachtree Street, is the former sight of Reign nightclub. (See photos of the mural below.)
In a series of five 10-foot-wide panels across the building designed to work almost like a flip-book, a sneaky-looking character in a knit cap appears to make his way up a real exterior stairwell, grab something from inside and make a getaway.

In the final panel, in which our hero is being chased by a police officer, we see that it's just a large, red heart that he's making away with.

According to the artist, the character's name is IF — short for Imaginary Friend.
According to his biographical information, Kai is a native of Los Angeles who has been doing street art since he was 14. He studied at the California Institute of the Arts and L'ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris. Over the years, he has worked with the likes of Chris Brown, G-Eazy and Jarvis Landry of the Cleveland Browns.
