Midtown Residents Concerned About Festival Traffic Flow
The Midtown Neighbors Association may not give its full blessing to Music Midtown due to its concerns about how traffic will be routed.

The neighborhood association which represents residents near the upcoming Music Midtown festival are upset with event organizers for their plans to re-route traffic off of 10th Street, Access Atlanta reports.
The Midtown Neighbors Association rejected the festival’s event plan and application during their July 31 meeting, citing concerns about traffic on 8th and Myrtle streets. Board member Dana Persons wrote that this detour would send 250,000 people down narrow residential streets for the duration of the two day festival. Access Atlanta questions the validity of Persons’ figures.
Residents and Music Midtown’s promoter Live Nation were able to agree on some points, however. No sound checks will be performed before 10 a.m., there will be extra bike racks installed, parking will be restricted to residents only, and the number of portable toilets has been increased to 350.
