Midtown-Based "Fix Your Car" Scam May Be Getting Violent
Atlanta Police are worried that the scammer has begun to carry a weapon on him.
Atlanta Police are spreading the word about a Midtown-based scammer whose criminal activities may become even more dangerous.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta, police believe that Pedro Soto has operated a "fix your car" scam in Midtown for years, but may now be carrying a weapon with him when he does his dirty work.
FOX 5 spoke with one of Soto's latest victims, who claims that after he left a Midtown restaurant and discovered his car wouldn't start, Soto offered him assistance in exchange for a small fee. Once the victim consented, Soto fixed the car, then got in and demanded the victim to drive him to a convenience store. Soto then allegedly robbed the man.
It turns out that Soto was able to fix all his victims' vehicles because he was the one who had disabled them in the first place, Atlanta Police told FOX 5.
