Nearby: Cascade House Fire Kills Three

The fire may have been caused by a lightning strike.

Three people were killed in a fire at a house just outside Interstate 285 in southwest Atlanta on Tuesday morning, CBS Atlanta reports.

The home, located in the 3500 block of Revere Road, may have been struck by lightning. A neighbor was awakened by the lightning strike and called 911 when she noticed the home was on fire. Firefighters are attempting to determine if lightning did indeed cause the fire.

The neighbor told CBS Atlanta that a couple lived in the home with their teenage daughter.
