UPDATE: One Dead, One Arrested in Underground Atlanta Shooting

The incident forced the closure of the entrance of the Five Points MARTA station.

UPDATE: Atlanta police have released the names of the suspect and the victim involved in a fatal shooting at Underground Atlanta on Thursday.

Police say that Allan Dumas, 24, has been arrested and charged with murder for the death of Maurice Cosby. Dumas was taken to the Fulton County jail.

ORIGINAL STORY: One person is in custody after a shooting inside Underground Atlanta which left another person dead on Thursday.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the shooting happened on Lower Alabama Street near the entrance to the Five Points MARTA station. The victim died at Grady Memorial Hospital, 11 Alive News says, but FOX 5 Atlanta reports he was able to identify his shooter. A MARTA police officer was reportedly helping the victim.

The Atlanta Police Department told FOX 5 Atlanta that no officers were involved in the shooting, despite social media claims that a MARTA police officer fired on the victim.

It is not known how the suspect was taken into custody. MARTA has closed the entrance to Five Points station while the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
