Pedestrian Tour of West Midtown Planned for This Weekend
The Howell Mill Road corridor could see extensive improvements if voters approve the city's infrastructure bond next year.

A pedestrian advocacy organization is inviting Atlanta residents to join them on a stroll through a growing but unheralded section of the city this weekend.
PEDS will lead a walking tour of West Midtown beginning at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23 at Octane Coffee, located at 1009 Marietta St. and ending up at Ormsby’s, located at 1170 Howell Mill Rd. To reach Octane using mass transit, take the #12 bus from the Midtown MARTA station.
Walkers will include developers, community leaders and elected officials, all of whom will mingle with fellow walkers and answer questions about their plans for the future of West Midtown.

PEDS describes Howell Mill Road as, “a vibrant, fast-developing corridor in West Midtown,” and says the area could become accessible to all forms of transportation should voters approve a proposed infrastructure bond for the City of Atlanta in March of 2015. Walkers will have the opportunity to learn about the “Complete Street” concept and how Howell Mill Road could be so transformed.
If the event is rained out, it will be rescheduled for some time in 2015.
