Police Arrest Suspect in Armed Robbery of Tech Student

The man is also a suspect in the theft of electronic devices from the campus.

Several law enforcement agencies joined forces to arrest a man they say robbed a Georgia Tech student at gunpoint inside a campus building in January.

WSB-TV reports that Atlanta police, MARTA police, Georgia Tech police, the FBI Violent Crimes Task Force, and Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta all contributed in the arrest of Quevos Talley.

According to a campus alert quoted by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a student was inside the Scheller College of Business at approximately 7 p.m. on Jan. 5 when a man now believed to be Talley asked to use his cell phone. The man went into the restroom, but came out brandishing a handgun, the alert said.

The man ordered the student to lay his backpack on the ground, go into the bathroom, and count to 100 before leaving. When the student left the bathroom, the man and the backpack were gone.

Talley has also been charged with the theft of two laptops from the same facility in December of 2014, WSB-TV says.
