Police Shoot, Kill Man Trying to Break Into Cars in Midtown
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating, while the officer has been placed on administrative leave.

Atlanta, GA -- An off-duty Atlanta police officer shot and killed a man who allegedly was trying to break into some cars in Midtown Atlanta early Thursday morning.
A police spokesman said the officer chased the suspect and called for backup. The suspect then got in a car and attempted to leave. Several other off-duty officers then arrived, and the man still attempted to leave. One of the officers, according to Channel 2 Action News, felt threatened, and that's when the officer shot the suspect.
The suspect then crashed into a parked SUV at the Cirque restaurant. He was rushed to a local hospital where he later died.

The shooting took place in the 2100 block of Monroe Drive, reports Fox 5 Atlanta, in an apartment complex parking deck. Also being reported that the officer who shot the suspect is a member of the Atlanta Police tactical unit.
The suspect is being reported as a 22-year-old male.
