PRSA Georgia Chapter October Seminar and Luncheon Reveals How To Leverage Social Media Influencers and Manage Legal IssuesL

ATLANTA – October 3 – The Public Relations Society of America Georgia Chapter (prsageorgia.org) will host a seminar and luncheon on October 13 providing guidance on how to leverage third-party social influencers and reduce social media risks.

During the luncheon, Danica Kombol, president of Everywhere Agency, will moderate a panel featuring Dawn Brun, director communications for Cardlytics, Dwayna Haley, vice president of Porter Novelli, and Tracey Del Moral, director of marketing for Carter’s | OshKosh B’gosh. Their conversation will focus on how to engage social influencers to help brands tell their stories. During the morning seminar, attorney and author Deborah Gonzales, Esq., will help attendees navigate legal issues in the digital and social media world.

There is limited seating for both sessions. Both events will take place at Maggiano’s Buckhead.

The Rise of the Influencer: Leveraging Third-Party Social Influencers

The definition of social influencer is expanding rapidly with the evolution of digital and social media channels. Brands of all sizes are looking for ways to engage these influencers to help tell their own stories as more consumers rely on the opinions of their favorite bloggers, you-tubers, instagrammers and snapchatters for their purchasing decisions.

Attendees will benefit from discussion of best practices regarding:

• Identifying the right influencer for your brand and budget.

• Creative ways of utilizing influencers while maintaining ethics and transparency.

• Establishing the right metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of your influencer campaign.

• Figuring out where influencers fit into your company’s communications strategy.

Experts Danica Kombol, Dawn Brun, Dwayna Hayley and Tracey Del Moral will explore this topic during the luncheon program.

Social media continues to dominate traditional media in creating brand awareness and consumer engagement. As brands and individuals alike increasingly leverage a variety of social channels to drive their communications strategy, they must be aware of the legal risks involved.

Deborah Gonzales, Esq, attorney and author of “Managing Online Risk: Apps, Mobile & Social Media Security, IP, Digital, Entertainment & Tech Law” will share seven tips for reducing social media legal risks. Deborah will help attendees navigate legal issues in the digital and social media world by discussing;

• Potential risks of social media.

• Social media risk avoidance.

• Social media policies.

• Employee use of social media.

• HR practices of social media

Deborah will also share examples of companies that have successfully executed social media strategies within the law, as well as those where social media initiatives went astray.

Registration begins at 9:15 a.m., followed by the seminar from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
