PRSA Georgia's Hosts 2016 Annual Conference Friday, April 29

PRSA Annual Conference

In this new era for communicators, PR practitioners must constantly be on the path of learning and discovering new ways of breaking through - not only for the brands they represent, but for themselves. That is why the Georgia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (www.prsageorgia.org), the largest chapter in the region, will present a full day of professional learning and networking with more than 150 seasoned PR professionals at its Annual Conference. Scheduled for Friday, April 29, 2016 at the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North (7 Concourse Parkway, NE, Atlanta, GA 30328) from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., the event is the premier public relations conference in the Southeast. Regular registration ends on April 21 at 5 p.m. (costs: PRSA Georgia members $170, and non-members $225).

Many of the Annual Conference’s sessions will span this year’s theme, “PR Trends: Discover. Strategize. Engage.” Twenty speakers from the following leading organizations will share their expertise: Atlanta Community Food Bank, Arketi Group, The Coca-Cola Company, Coca-Cola North America, Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Cox Communications, Edelman, Emory University’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Georgia Center for Nonprofits, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia-Pacific, Georgia State University, The Home Depot, King of Pops, Moe’s Southwest Grill, NCR Corporation and UPS.

This year, PRSA Georgia welcomes three dynamic keynote speakers to highlight evolving media models, market segmentation and branding. Bob Pearson, an Austin, Texas-based author and speaker and the president and CEO of W2O Group, will discuss strategies for “Entering the Most Important Era for Communicators” during his opening keynote. The next opening keynote will feature Mike Wien, founder and president of The Specific Edge Institute, LLC and adjunct professor at Georgia State University, sharing “Proven Strategies to Create a Competitive Advantage.” Over the lunch keynote, Bruce Schroder, president of Moe’s Southwest Grill, will discuss “PR’s Role in Amplifying the Brand.”

“Year over year, we receive meaningful feedback from attendees to help us shape future Annual Conferences and stay on point with what practitioners want and need,” said Alison Ilg, president, PRSA Georgia Chapter. “Last year, 98 percent of attendees said they would recommend the conference to colleagues, and nine out of 10 said they left the conference with an idea or tactic to use in their day-to-day business. We are confident that this year’s Annual Conference will elicit the same response, if not an even better one.”

Register Today – Secure your spot today and receive the benefits of this full day of professional learning. The final registration deadline is April 25, 2016.
