ATLANTA, GA — A rash of recent Midtown car break-ins is continuing, as thieves targeted nearly 30 cars in a gated building's community one night earlier this week.

Police were called after a resident realized their car had been broken into, reports WSB.

The discovery was made around 6:30 am Tuesday. The building's leasing office had sent out an email to its residents, informing them about the break-ins.

Last week, thieves reportedly broke into 50 cars in two Midtown parking lots, stealing 15 guns. That followed 70 cars broken into last week. In that case, the suspects were walking alongside the getaway car, and randomly breaking into cars that they passed, a police spokesperson told local media.
