Restaurant To Open Inside Whole Foods: Report

The gourmet grocery store will celebrate expansion and upgrades next week.

ATLANTA, GA — Next week, the Whole Foods Market in Midtown is celebrating its recent expansion, and plans are in the works to open a new restaurant inside the gourmet grocery store, according to a media report.

The store in the Midtown Place shopping center has added about 5,000 square feet of space, along with numerous upgrades, and it's hosting a four-day "grand reopening celebration" next Thursday, Nov. 3, through Sunday, Nov. 6, What Now Atlanta reported Tuesday. The Whole Foods Market is at 650 Ponce de Leon Ave. NE.

Next spring, Whole Foods plans to open "The Roast," a full-service restaurant with live music, inside the store. On Monday, the company filed a permit application with the city for a venue that would have its own entrance and facade, according to What Now Atlanta.
