Watch the Roosevelt House Implode
Atlanta Demolition to demolish the Roosevelt House near Georgia Tech.
Georgia Tech students could get an early morning wake-up call Sunday.
Atlanta Demolition has scheduled an implosion near the campus on Feb. 27. At about 7:30 a.m., the Roosevelt House on Centennial Olympic Park Drive near North Avenue will be demolished. The public is invited to watch.

"It absolutely is a sight to see," said Barry Roberts, managing member of Atlanta Demolition. "It will be on the ground in 15 seconds."
Roberts said the Roosevelt House is a former senior living residence and one of the final demolitions the Atlanta Housing Authority is conducting to eliminate its older housing units.

"It's pretty rare in Atlanta," Roberts said, to see such a demolition. The last implosion in the city was in 2010 around Valentine's Day, he said.
Viewing will take place at . Roberts said people should arrive early. He expects upward of 1,200 people to attend.
Portions of North Avenue and Centennial Olympic Park Drive will be closed Sunday morning to accommodate the demolition.
