The Shape of History: Romare Bearden Lecture

January 22, 7 p.m. visit the High for a free lecture by Professor Rachel DeLue!

Professor Rachael DeLue will introduce the High’s new Romare Bearden acquisition, Profile/Part II: The Thirties: Artist with Painting and Model. Situating the work historically within Bearden’s collage practice, DeLue will discuss Bearden’s use of the silhouette form as well as his attention to both global history and art history.

This program is free; tickets are limited to 2 per person. Tickets are also available through the Woodruff Arts Center Box Office at 404-733-5000.

The lecture will begin at 7 p.m. with galleries open until 9 p.m. Save your ticket stub for a special opportunity to see the galleries following this program.
