SHOOT ON FILM!: 16mm Camera Workshop with Ed Gutentag
Renowned cinematographer to host workshop at SCAD Digital Media Center

On Friday, July 29, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., SCADFILM presents a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the creative potentials and practical realities of working with 16mm film, this intensive workshop welcomes filmmakers of any experience level. Curriculum includes building camera body, lenses, film stock options, filtration, how to load, focus, run, maintain and operate. Plunge into the world of 16mm with one of the industry’s most accomplished cinematographers, Ed Gutentag.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Ed Gutentag started his career at the age of six, experimenting with his dad’s 8mm movie camera, which turned into a love of Cinematography and movies.
Ed has moved through the ranks from Film Loader to Cinematographer, having worked every position in between. Ed has worked on more than 100 feature films and hundreds of commercials and music videos. He has been fortunate to work with some of the world's most acclaimed Oscar winning filmmakers, including Steven Spielberg (War of The Worlds), James Cameron (True Lies and Titanic), Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump) and Michael Mann (Collateral and Heat). In addition to working in mainstream Hollywood, Ed has also shot many documentaries, including Godfrey Reggio’s Powaqqatsi.
