Small Explosion, Chemical Spill Reported in Georgia Tech Lab
School officials told FOX 5 Atlanta that the building was evacuated without incident and that nobody was injured due to the explosion.

A Georgia Tech facility was evacuated on Tuesday after school officials said a small explosion and subsequent chemical spill occurred in a laboratory inside the building.

According to FOX 5 Atlanta, Atlanta Fire Rescue personnel responded to the situation at the lab on Ferst Drive at approximately 4:30 p.m. Monday. Georgia Tech has told FOX 5 Atlanta that the building was evacuated without a hitch and that no injuries were reported.
It is not yet known what caused the explosion or when the building will be cleared for occupancy again.
