So-Called "Roofers" Allegedly Scammed Elderly Atlanta Customers

When one victim refused to continue paying the brothers, they allegedly threatened to tear out the repairs they had made.

A set of brothers are behind bars in the DeKalb County jail on charges of financial exploitation of the elderly after they allegedly bilked seniors out of tens of thousands of dollars for shoddy roof repairs.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Keith Derrick Ogles, 50 and his brother Jeffery Glenn Ogles, 51, targeted elderly homeowners for their roof repair business. The Ogles’ would ask their victims for increasing amounts of money as repairs progressed, eventually costing the victims tens of thousands of dollars.

According to the AJC, when one homeowner caught on to the scheme and refused to keep paying, the Ogles threatened to destroy the repairs they had made.
