Sports Radio Host Suspended for 'Anchorman' Remark

Midtown-based 92.9/The Game has suspended afternoon host Mike Bell because of an insult made to a female baseball analyst on Tuesday night.

According to the AJC, Bell has been suspended until Monday, Oct. 12.

On Tuesday night, Bell used a sexist “Anchorman” insult on Twitter against Jessica Mendoza, ESPN’s first-ever female baseball analyst, who was on air during the New York Yankees/Houston Astros game.

Deadspin reports that Bell eventually deleted the original Tweet and apologized, but the damage had already been done.
