Steve Harvey Relocates Awards Show to Atlanta

The former Hoodie Awards will be held at the Georgia World Congress Center.

A TV and radio personality has relocated his community awards show from Las Vegas to Atlanta, and expects to attract nearly 150,000 people to the city during the three day affair.

Steve Harvey’s rebranded 2014 Ford Neighborhood Awards will take over the Georgia World Congress Center from Aug. 8 - 10 and will feature comedy shows, step shows, and a choir competition. The awards show, held on Aug. 10, will showcase small businesses, churches, and civic organizations. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that celebrities like Hill Harper and Holly Robinson Peete will be on hand to present the awards.

The awards show was formerly known as the Hoodie Awards and was held in Las Vegas, but Harvey felt the move and the name change would be more appropriate for sponsors and his viewing audience, which is predominately African-American.
