Student from Atlanta Killed in North Carolina Shooting

The 19-year-old was studying chemical engineering at North Carolina A&T State.

An Atlanta man was shot and killed at a party in North Carolina on Sunday morning, police say.

Dorian Tawan Edwards, 19, was shot during a fight between several people outside a home in Greensboro. 11 Alive reports that Edwards was rushed to Moses Cone Hospital, but died at 5:25 a.m.

Edwards was a chemical engineering student at North Carolina A&T State. The school sent a tweet announcing Edwards’ death just after 8 a.m. Sunday, and said that counseling services would be available on Sunday afternoon for those affected by the incident. A memorial was held on Sunday evening.
