Suspect in Tech Sexual Batteries in Custody, Police Say
Georgia Tech police say that they received a significant amount of tips from the public which led to the arrest.

A Bremen man is behind bars at the Fulton County jail after his arrest by Georgia Tech police in connection to two sexual battery incidents which occurred on campus earlier this week, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says.
John Perry Smith, 43, stands accused of inappropriately touching two students on Monday. In the first reported incident Smith allegedly walked up behind a female student who was walking behind the Brittain Dining Hall and reached up her skirt.
A second victim then came forward and told police that she, too, had been a victim of sexual battery. The woman said that she was walking up stairs on Techwood Drive as Smith was allegedly walking down them. Smith allegedly faked a trip and fell onto the woman, touching her in the process, the AJC reported on Tuesday.

According to the AJC, both victims provided similar descriptions of Smith to police, and surveillance camera footage which captured Smith’s face led to many tips which named him as the man pictured in the images.
Fulton County jail records indicate that Smith has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor sexual battery.
