Take a Dog Home for a Day at Fulton County Animal Services and Meet Our Pets of the Week
Want a dog to play with for the day? Check out our "Dog for the Day" program. And meet our Fulton County Animal Services Pets of the Week.
Ever wanted to have a dog for a day to play with? Need a jogging buddy for the afternoon? Want to add some fun to your family for a day? Then take advantage of Fulton County Animal Services “Dog for the Day” program. This program is a great way to give the dogs a break from the shelter environment and get them seen by potential adopters. You can take a Fulton County Animal Services dog to the park, go for a hike, or simply relax at your house. The potential for fun is endless!
There is no special orientation required in order to participate! Your dog just needs to be signed in and out of the volunteer office, and brought back one hour before closing: 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m. on weekends. You will be provided with a leash, harness, and an “adopt-me” vest for the dog you choose. The shelter dog must be fully vetted to leave the shelter, so any of our adoption event dogs are automatically candidates for this program. Please email volunteer@fultonanimalservices.com 24 hours in advance of when you plan on borrowing a dog for the day, so we can expect your arrival.
