Taste of Atlanta: Everything You Need to Know

The event begins this Friday and runs through the weekend.

ATLANTA, GA — This year's Taste of Atlanta is set to begin this Friday, Oct. 21, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 23.

Here's everything you need to know about this year's 15th annual event:

Taste of Atlanta will be held in Midtown at Tech Square. The event site includes eight city blocks from 5th Street to Techwood, West Peachtree Street and Spring Street from Biltmore Place to Armstead Place.

More than 90 restaurants will offer two or three sample-size or larger food items from their menus, which are purchased with Taste Points. There are professional chef presentations, hands-on cooking demonstrations, the Barcraft bartending competition, and events for the kids.

Friday Night Kick-off Party (separate ticket required)

  • General Admission: 7:30-11 pm
  • VIP Entry: 6:30 - 11:00pm
General Admission:
  • Saturday: 12 pm – 7 pm
  • Sunday: 12 pm – 6 pm
VIP Grand Tasting:
  • Saturday & Sunday: 12:30–5 pm

Kids 13 & under receive free admission when accompanied by a paid adult. Taste Points are needed to sample food items.

Parking

  • MARTA's North Avenue station is the closest station to the event.
  • New Uber riders can sign up with code TOA2016 and save up to $20 off the first ride.
  • There are several parking decks and surface parking lots within walking distance which will be offering event parking.
    From North Atlanta
    Interstate 85/75 south, you can take either the 10th Street Exit (250), or the North Avenue Exit (249-D):
  • Taking 10th / 14th Street Exit:Take the 0th Street exit (Exit 250). Turn left on 10th Street and then turn right on Spring Street. Parking available at Spring St./8th St. lot and in the Centergy parking deck.
  • Taking North Avenue / GA Tech Exit:Take Exit 249-D, North Avenue / Georgia Tech. Turn left onto North Avenue. Turn left onto West Peachtree. Turn left on 4th Street. The GA Tech parking deck is on the right, across Spring St.
  • From South Atlanta
  • From Interstate 85/75 north, take the Spring St. / W Peachtree St. exit (exit 249D). Turn left on West Peachtree. Turn left on 4th Street. The GA Tech parking deck is on the right, across Spring St.FROM EAST OR WEST OF ATLANTATake Interstate 20 to Interstate 85/75 north to the10th/14th Street/GA Tech exit (Exit 250). Turn right on 10th Street and then turn right on Spring Street. Parking available at Spring St./8th St. lot and in the Centergy parking deck.

Once purchased, parking is 100% guaranteed even if the location otherwise fills up. Present the purchase confirmation at the selected location, and this serves as your payment with no additional payments or fees ever. Parking availability is limited.

The Taste Point System

"Taste Points" are the official currency at Taste of Atlanta. One Taste Point = $1. When you purchase your ticket, you will receive a wristband in the mail that is pre-loaded with 10 Taste Points as part of your ticket package.

There are four main gates to enter the festival.

  • West Peachtree and 5th Street
  • Spring Street at Biltmore Place
  • Spring and 4th Street
  • 5th Street and Techwood
