Tech Student Indicted for UGA Website Hack
The student allegedly hacked into the school's online calendar in advance of the game between UGA and Georgia Tech.

A Clark County grand jury has indicted a Georgia Tech student on charges of felony computer trespassing for his alleged hack of the University of Georgia’s computer systems in advance of the Georgia-Georgia Tech football game earlier this year, the Atlanta Business Chronicle says.
According to the Chronicle, Ryan Gregory Pickren is accused of hacking into UGA’s online calendar and adding a second calendar entry for the football game. Pickren’s entry read, in part, “Get Ass Kicked by GT.”
A bench warrant was issued for Pickren’s arrest, and he surrendered to Clark County authorities following his Dec. 16 indictment. He was arrested and posted bond, the Chronicle says. According to the Chronicle, Pickren faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and a $50,000 fine if he is convicted.
