Many Thanks, See You Around

Midtown, I am truly teary-eyed as I write this final post.

Today, I hand over Midtown Patch to a new editor -- Hunt Archbold, former editor of Smyrna-Vinings Patch. He'll do an amazing job, given his passion for and knowledge of the community.

As for me, I'm taking a job as hospitality, retail and restaurant reporter for the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

While I'm excited for the future, I'm sad Patch now is my past.

A little more than a year ago, I was canvassing Spring Street explaining Patch to people. Reactions were certainly mixed. "Wait, what is it again? Who are you?"

But when Midtown Patch launched Dec. 15, 2010, it began to change the local media landscape.

All of a sudden, there was a reporter at neighborhood meetings each month. There was someone looking into community issues and concerns, . And that person was your neighbor, your friend. Hopefully, someone you trusted.

It was an exciting year in Midtown. , rushing to the scene of a , several and even . You have shared your photos and commentary, and truly made this your community website.

None of that will change. Midtown Patch will continue to be your neighborhood hub for news, views, events, community conversation and more.

Thank you so much for reading. Thank you for the amazing experience and the knowledge.

And know that I'm leaving you with a new neighbor and friend who loves this community.

This isn't goodbye. I'll see you around.
