With no other excuse than to find a reason to throw an epic party, the team at GRAIN is celebrating the end of summer or beginning of fall (partygoers’ choice) with an epic blowout, the F*cking Catalina Wine Mixer. On Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5 to 10 p.m., anyone with a sense of humor or who simply is need of a strong cocktail and a laugh is invited to attend this over-the-top hoorah fueled by specialty Mezcal Margaritas and Irish Coffee Slushies and, of course, wine. The trusty team behind the bar will also be serving Three Taverns Brewery’s A Night on Ponce IPA drafts for just $2. Chef Sid Blackwell will be serving up “God and the Devil” Carolina Reaper “Grilled Cheesus” sandwiches along with a variety of specialty tacos just for the evening. GRAIN will also be showing classic movies, (“Step Brothers”, perhaps?) in honor of its their weekly Throwback Thursday event. Cypress Street Pint and Plate Host GoldSprints with New Belgium, 8 p.m.

Cypress Street Pint and Plate is gearing up to host a competitive and exciting head-to-head, bike racing event on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at 8 p.m. Sponsored by New Belgium, two stand-alone bikes will be set up on the expansive patio, allowing guests to challenge each other to 10-second sprints. Attendees will be able to observe their competitors’ racing stats from Cypress’ accessible flat screen TVs. To make things more interesting, New Belgium will be providing an array of prizes to deserving competitors.
