New sod adds to upgrades for the Jackets in 2011
When football season returns to Georgia Tech later this summer, the Yellow Jackets, their opponents and fans will see new surroundings to the familiar setting of the school’s famed gridiron cathedral.
This year marks a new chapter in the history of Grant Field at Bobby Dodd Stadium as the ground was sodded with Tifway 419 Bermuda grass.
The addition of a new turf coincides with the development of a new indoor practice facility for the Jackets in 2011.

Georgia Tech kicks off the season on Sept. 1 at home on the newly planted field versus Western Carolina. Home games for the Jackets this year include versus Kansas, Sept. 17, North Carolina, Sept. 24, Maryland, Oct. 8, Clemson, Oct. 29, Virginia Tech, Nov. 10 and Georgia, Nov. 26.
