According to WSB-TV, the first accident was caused by a Chevy Camaro which plowed into three light poles on 17th Street towards Atlantic Station. Witnesses told WSB-TV that they suspected the Camaro was involved in a street race; several other Camaros were found at the scene.
Hours later, a Range Rover knocked over a light pole and a tree near 17th and Peachtree streets. Part of the tree fell into an empty MARTA bus stop, WSB-TV said. Witnesses said they thought the driver of the Range Rover may have been drunk at the time of the accident.
