Two Suspects in Uptown Station Robbery Arrested, Third Hospitalized

Atlanta police are searching for a fourth person involved in the Sunday robbery.

It all started with a broken bottle at a Midtown gas station on Sunday morning.

When the clerk at the Uptown Station Exxon’s cigarette counter went to clean up the bottle and spill, three people rushed into the store and pillaged the counter, stealing $700 in cigarettes. It turns out the man who dropped the bottle was in on it, too.

FOX 5 Atlanta reports that the “swarm robbery” involved four people and only took a few seconds.

After the four men loaded up on stolen cigarettes, they fled the station in a Chevy Tahoe. FOX 5 says an off-duty Atlanta police officer spotted the getaway vehicle, and police received further assistance from a taxi driver who kept eyes on the suspects as they got on the highway.

Georgia State Patrol troopers got involved, and the chase ended with a wreck around seven miles away from the gas station. One of the suspects, Lucious Shropashire, was injured in the crash and was taken to the hospital. Two other suspects, Deyonta Holder and Larry Hightower, fled on foot but were arrested and charged with armed robbery. A fourth suspect remains on the loose.
