Unannounced Visits Annoy Atlantans Most | New Poll
Atlanta has some of the nation's most annoying neighbors. See what complaints are more common here than anywhere else.

ATLANTA, GA — Unannounced visits are among the things that annoy Atlantans most, according to a recent poll. The Chicago marketing firm Digital Third Coast determined the nation's "most annoying" urban centers based on a survey of 2,500 people in the 24 biggest U.S. cities. The poll, conducted on behalf of the home-improvement website ImproveNet, also analyzed where common gripes popped up most often.
Atlantans can be thankful they don't live in Dallas, which the survey shows is America's most annoying city. The Big Apple isn't far behind at No. 6, ranking below Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Austin and Miami.
New York is the worst in the nation when it comes to three complaints: loud indoor movement, the smell of cooking and storage in common areas. The city also claimed the No. 2 spot in three other categories, including loud sex, loud home-improvement work and overflowing or misplaced garbage or recycling, the poll found.

Just over half of the people surveyed said they've confronted a neighbor, with face-to-face named as the preferred method. New Yorkers were the eighth-most likely to take up a confrontation while San Antonio residents were deemed the most confrontational, the poll found.
