UNICEF Atlanta Speakers Series May 2016

Join the UNICEF Atlanta Speaker Series Committee for an engaging conversation moderated by Dr. Sanjay Gupta about nutritional issues at home and abroad.

Every day around the world, 16,000 children under five die from preventable causes. Almost half of these deaths are linked to malnutrition. One in four children globally do not get enough to eat on a regular basis and are chronically malnourished.

This Speaker Series will present an informative panel discussion about food insecurity both here in the United States and around the world, touching on issues of children and malnutrition, hunger, and food safety – as well as focusing on a new U.S. Fund for UNICEF program, Kid Power, that provides an opportunity for kids and families to get involved and give back.

The Speaker Series committee was established in July 2011 in order to serve as thought leaders for the events, to help increase attendance, and to serve as Chairs of specific events that are of interest. Members are active supporters of UNICEF’s work who are interested in helping to increase awareness about UNICEF and the issues facing children around the world.
