Violinist Leonidas Kavakos To Conduct And Perform With Atlanta Symphony

Acclaimed violinist Leonidas Kavakos will take both center stage and the podium to lead the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra (ASO) in a program featuring Bach’s Violin Concerto No. 1. Mr. Kavakos will conduct the Orchestra in Sibelius’s Pelléas et Mélisande Suite as well as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, “Eroica.” The performances will take place May 15–16, 2014, at 8:00 p.m., and May 17, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center.

These performances will mark Mr. Kavakos’s third appearance with the Atlanta Symphony. He most recently appeared with the Orchestra in March 2012. This will be the second time Mr. Kavakos has performed and conducted with the Orchestra in one concert.
