William W. Fagan III Joins Sterling Risk Advisors as General Counsel

Fagan will work with clients of the firm's construction, professional services, real estate and benefits practice groups

Sterling Risk Advisors has appointed William W. Fagan, III as General Counsel. Fagan has experience in a variety of legal practice areas, including complex commercial litigation, construction, financial services, medical malpractice, environmental and toxic tort litigation, and white collar criminal defense and investigations.

Fagan will work with clients of the firm’s construction, professional services, real estate and benefits practice groups, particularly in the areas of contractual risk transfer, large claims and employment matters. He will also be a regular presenter in the firm’s Management Education Series, offered regularly to friends and clients of the firm.

Immediately prior to joining Sterling Risk Advisors, Fagan worked for the law firm Duane Morris LLP in their Atlanta office. He has also worked with the law firms of Hawkins Parnell Thackston & Young LLP, Chilivis, Cochran, Larkins & Bever LLP, and Holland & Knight LLP. Fagan served as a law clerk to Federal Judge Orinda D. Evans of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.

  • Licensed to practice in both Georgia and Florida, Fagan is also an active member of the State Bar of Georgia, where he co-chairs the Young Lawyers Division Legislative Affairs Committee.
  • He has also devoted time to pro bono work on behalf of domestic violence victims in Fulton County, Georgia through the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation, Inc.
  • He is accredited by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to prepare, present and prosecute claims for veterans’ benefits before the VA.
  • Named a 2015 Pro Bono All-Star by the Georgia Bar Journal.

Fagan graduated from Duke University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and History and earned his Juris Doctorate from Washington & Lee University School of Law. He lives in the west Midtown area of Atlanta with his wife, attorney Jessica Reece Fagan.
