Woman Fends off Would-Be Cell Phone Thief in Atlanta Playground

When an unknown man jumped Antinia Usher and tried to take her cell phone, she decided to fight back.

A woman who lives in a southwest Atlanta apartment complex successfully defended herself against a man who attacked her from behind in an attempt to steal her cell phone, WSB-TV reports.

Antinia Usher and her son live in a gated community off of Fairburn road, and the pair were out walking in the community’s playground in broad daylight and under the watchful eye of a security camera when a man sneaked up behind Usher and began choking her. Usher told WSB-TV that the man was after her cell phone.

Instead of letting the attacker win, Usher started fighting back, all the while telling the man that he wasn’t going to get his hands on her cell phone. Eventually, the man fled the scene without the loot he was looking for.
