Woman, Shot Killed in Car Near Piedmont Park

ATLANTA, GA — A woman was shot and killed early Monday morning while riding in a car near Piedmont Park.

Atlanta police say the woman, whose name has not been released, was shot in the back near 1073 Piedmont Park.

After the shooting, she was taken by a private vehicle to Emory University Hospital, where she died in surgery around 1:20 am.

It is not clear if the victim was taken to the hospital in the same vehicle in which she shot.
