• Piedmont Walton supports Healthcare Pathways for local students (monroelocal.org) — Piedmont Walton in Monroe is expanding its Healthcare Pathways Internship Program, covering required platform costs so more local students, including those from Monroe Area High School, can train in 12 hospital departments. The hospital is also doubling its popular Healthcare Day Camp next summer, aiming to build a stronger pipeline of hometown healthcare workers and improve long-term access to care in the Monroe community.
   

• Doll Pope (themonticellonews.com) — Family and friends with ties to Monroe are mourning 95-year-old Doll Pope of Monticello, a devoted Prospect CME Church member remembered for her caregiving, gardening, and cooking. With a niece in Monroe and a wide church family, she leaves a legacy of service, and loved ones are invited to a Sept. 27 memorial at Prospect-Liberty Church on Highway 11.
