• Hall of Fame: Helms a superb Packer, Diving Tiger, Volunteer (moultrieobserver.com) — A former Moss Farms diver from Moultrie, Ryan Helms, is being inducted into the Colquitt County Sports Hall of Fame, with a public ceremony at Willie B. Withers Auditorium on Oct. 15. His journey from four straight Georgia high school diving titles to SEC and NCAA honors highlights how Moultrie's own programs helped launch a nationally recognized athletic and academic career.
   

• Man indicted in connection to fatal crash that killed mom, daughter in South Ga. (walb.com) — A Colquitt County family from the Moultrie area is closer to seeing a fatal 2024 crash case go to trial after a grand jury indicted George Montgomery in the deaths of Jessica and Ellie Phillips. Prosecutors say he failed to yield at a stop sign and entered an intersection at high speed, and the case may appear on the county's next trial calendar.
