• Jim 'N Nick's Plans New Restaurant at Former Hooters Site in Newnan (thecitymenus.com) — Jim 'N Nick's Community Bar-B-Q is planning a new 5,800-square-foot restaurant at 1001 Bullsboro Drive in Newnan, on the former Hooters site near I-85. The project would add a second Coweta County location for the chain, with construction targeted to start around mid-November, though no opening date has been announced yet.
• Metro Atlanta city approves new traffic lights for nearly $600,000 contract (wsbtv.com) — Newnan drivers can expect a new traffic signal and road upgrades at the intersection of Newnan Cross Boulevard, E. Diplomat Parkway and Stonebridge Crossing after city council unanimously approved a $586,435 contract. Funded through Newnan SPLOST dollars, the project includes modern signal equipment, sidewalks, curb ramps, paving and new pavement markings to improve safety and traffic flow.
• Volleyball Preview: Conference Play Begins for Northgate Against East Coweta + Official Tickets (maxpreps.com) — Northgate volleyball heads to East Coweta on Thursday for its first conference test, just days after East Coweta's four-game win streak ended with a 2-0 loss to Newnan. With both teams coming off defeats, Coweta County fans can expect a motivated matchup, featuring East Coweta standouts like Hanna Monnin and Layla Dukes.
