2 Charged With Murder In Norcross Killing Of Lawrenceville Man
Police say a motive in the shooting death of a Lawrenceville man is unclear.

NORCROSS, GA — Two people were arrested in connection with the shooting death of a 39-year-old Lawrenceville man Sunday, Gwinnett Police said.
The man who died was identified by police as Angel Mendoza. Esteven Avile-Vega, 26, and girlfriend Sulma Mejia-Orellana, 26, are facing charges in the case. Both were arrested at a Lawrenceville home, police said.
Police responded around 1:15 a.m. to Pepperwood Trail in Norcross, where officers found Mendoza dead from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. A motive in the shooting is unclear.

Esteven Avile-Vega was charged on suspicion of felony murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes. Sulma Mejia-Orellana was charged on suspicion of aggravated assault. Both were taken to the Gwinnett County Jail.
