It’s back! The Northcrest Atomic Dash is the hippest fun run event in Atlanta, returning May 17 to the Northcrest neighborhood just southwest of Norcross. Runners, walkers, baby stroller pushers, wagon pullers, cyclists and rollerbladers register at the Northcrest Swim and Tennis Club at 8:30 a.m. Registration is open to anyone and participants take their marks at 9 a.m. The club is located at 3542 Bowling Green Way, in Atlanta, Ga. Participation options are diverse, with almost as many parents with wagons full of kids as there are seasoned runners -- and a little bit of everything in between. The draw for all is the quiet streets of Northcrest, famous for its unique “atomic ranch” style homes complete with an artsy vibe served with generous neighborhood hospitality.
Registration is now open and discounted through May 10. Individual registration is $25 and families or groups of two or more start at $40 ($5 discount each). Children can join in the fun for only $15. Each participant receives a fun Atomic Dash t-shirt. “Enthusiastic observers” who prefer to cheer the participants on from the comfort of their lounge chairs at the finish line can secure a t-shirt with a $25 donation.
