What is tapping? Tapping
has been described as emotional acupuncture without the needles. It is based on
the Chinese energy meridian theory which describes the life force, an
electrical energy called Chi, as circulating
throughout the body through these invisible meridians. Physical and
emotional problems are considered to be caused by disturbances in this flow of
energy. Physically tapping on certain meridian points can be used to release
physical and emotional pain, negative beliefs that drive our lives, and old
negative behavior patterns. At the end of a tapping session, the person
develops peace, focus, mental clarity and the ability to take inspired action!

What tapping does, with amazing efficiency, is halt
the fight-or-flight response and reprogram the brain and body to act—and
react—differently….Research at Harvard Medical School over the past decade has
shown that stimulation of selected meridian acupoints decreases activity in the
amygdala, hippocampus (another part of the limbic system), and other parts of
the brain associated with fear. In fMRI and PET brain scans, you can clearly
see the amygdala’s red alert being called off when acupoints are stimulated.
Nick Ortner in The Tapping Solution.
The Harvard study focused on needles; another well designed study showed that
stimulating the points as in tapping produced similar results in the brain.
Other scientific research has documented changes in the stress hormone
(cortisol), levels (24 to 50 percent less after a one hour tapping session). In
research a review in the APA journal, tapping was described as appearing to
meet the Division 12 criteria for designation as a “well-established treatment”
for PTSD, public speaking, anxiety, and depression. Thousands of case studies
have described tapping being successfully used successfully to eliminate or
decrease common problems of ordinary people.

If you are intrigued and have something you want to change, come
take a class or make an individual appointment to learn to use this technique
to resolve a specific issue!Tapping
