Innovations Furniture & Lighting Brings Fresh, Contemporary Design Options to Atlanta

Atlanta’s interior design professionals and discerning homeowners have a new haven for all things related to contemporary and transitional furnishings, elegant lighting fixtures and complete home theaters at Innovations Furniture & Lighting, which will open to the public November 9, 2013.

Featuring pieces from exclusive brands including Bontempi Casa, Contardi, Troy Lighting and more, Innovations offers a fresh perspective on home décor and a retail experience that provides customers access to high-end, contemporary design in a luxurious yet comfortable environment. 

Located at 6500 Dawson Blvd, Norcross, Ga.,—an area known as “furniture row”—the 20,000 sq. ft. retail showroom offers customers specialty services typically available only to the trade or accessed directly through designer showrooms. Customized furniture, smart home theaters, modern/contemporary lighting, along with interior design services are available through Innovations’ unique array of products and services.

The creation of three Atlanta-based entrepreneurs with backgrounds in home design, entertainment and luxury furniture retail, Innovations was founded by Ronnie Thomason, Felix Murry and Lonnie Johnson, who have combined their experiences and resources to launch this new home décor destination.

“Atlanta is a stylish city known worldwide for its arts, culture and fashion scene,” said Thomason. “Innovations is a reflection of our city’s appreciation for beauty, quality and creativity. Each item in our showroom carries those attributes.”

Already a business owner within the Atlanta nightclub and entertainment industry, Murry emphasizes that customer service is number one when it comes to running a business. “My experience has taught me the importance of exceeding a customer’s expectations on every level. That’s what Innovations Furniture & Lighting is all about – we’re dedicated to really giving customers that wow factor,” he said.

For Johnson, founder of Aston Custom Home & Design in Dallas, Texas, Innovations is about helping customers transform their houses into homes, regardless of budget. His experience in the home building and remodeling industry taught him the value of putting a personal stamp on one’s home.

“Your home should reflect your personal style, and often it’s hard to find those perfect signature pieces that really capture it. We’ve created Innovations to be an inspiration and one-stop shopping source for diverse tastes,” said Johnson.

Prior to opening to the public, Innovations Furniture & Lighting will host a private premiere grand opening event for interior design professionals on November 8, featuring Hilari Younger, a contestant on season seven of HGTV’s Design Star television show. Once open on Nov. 9, regular stores hours will be Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
