Boy, 14, Shoots Self in Head With Stolen Gun, Police Say
The Gwinnett County teen was at a friend's house in Norcross with a gun stolen in Marietta, according to police.

NORCROSS, GA — A 14 year old from Norcross is in serious condition after accidentally shooting himself in the head while playing with a stolen handgun.
Gwinnett County Police responded shortly before 6 p.m. Monday to the 1400 block of Wingfoot Way in Norcross.
They say the teen victim, Fredis Albayero-Rodriguez, was at a 15-year-old friend's house. After he the gun went off, a 12-year-old friend picked up the handgun, attempted to unload it and fired the weapon a second time.

No one was hurt by that shot, police said.
There were at least two adults inside the home at the time of the shooting, police said, and four children between the ages of 5 and 16.

Albayero-Rodriguez, who lives in the same subdivision, was transported to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, where he was listed in serious condition.
Police say they've learned the .40-caliber Smith and Wesson handgun was stolen in Marietta on June 24. It was unclear Tuesday morning how the teen got possession of it.
No charges are expected against the adults who were at the home at the time of the shooting, Gwinnett Police said.
