Get Free Drink Tuesday at The Varsity

The Varsity is celebrating the 80th anniversary of its signature beverage with something all customers can enjoy.

The restaurant chain will be giving away a free 12 oz. serving of the Varsity Orange Drink to every customer all day Tuesday, July 24, according to The Varsity's Facebook page.

All seven locations, , will be participating in the event.

The Facebook post reads as follows:

"80 years ago Frank Gordy had the idea of creating his own homemade Orange Drink. The result of this idea was something that would become a staple of The Varsity. Varsity Orange! Without Varsity Orange there would have never been the creation of Frosted Orange. Varsity Orange is the main ingredient in the Frosted Orange. So for the past 80 years we have been mixing up several batches of Varsity Orange Drink a day. We do this in a large refrigerated 55 gallon stainless steel tank.

"All day tomorrow (July 24th) we will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of The Varsity Orange Drink. To celebrate this occasion, all of our locations will be giving away free 12oz servings of Varsity Orange Drink to every customer. Please stop in and help us celebrate 80 great years of serving The Varsity Orange Drink!"

The Varsity in Gwinnett is located at 6045 Dawson Blvd. in unincorporated Norcross.
