Give Blood for 9/11

The , which has a congregation in the Norcross area, is asking everyone to honor 9/11 victims by giving blood.

The second-annual "Muslims for Life" is a nationwide campaign that aims to collect 11,000 units of blood to "reiterate the message that Islam values the sanctity of life."

While the blood drives will take place at all the congregation's satellites around the nation (the Norcross congregation is located at 6113 Oakbrook Parkway), the Georgia chapter also will host multiple drives. The Norcross location

Here are the dates, times and locations for the blood drives:

• Aug. 19, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., Lucky Shoals Park, 4651 Britt Rd., Norcross

• Aug. 22, 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., University of Georgia, Creswell Community, 415 Baxter St., Athens

• Aug. 22, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., University of Georgia, Ramsey Center, 330 River Rd., Athens

• Aug. 24, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Tanger Outlets, 800 Steven B. Tanger Blvd., Suite 201, Commerce

• Sept. 1-2, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., Discover Mills Mall, 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway, Lawrenceville

• Sept. 1-3, noon to 5 p.m., Mall of Georgia, 3333 Buford Drive, Buford

• Sept. 1-3, noon to 5 p.m., Town Center Mall, 400 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway, Kennesaw
