Itβs not too late to register for kindergarten
We canβt wait to welcome your kindergartner to school! If your child will be five years old on or before Sept. 1, now is the time to register for kindergarten so your child will be ready to learn when classes begin on Aug. 4!

Step 1βComplete online registration on the GCPS website.
Step 2βSchedule an appointment at your childβs new school to verify information, complete a kindergarten readiness profile, pick up materials to help your child prepare for school, and learn about exciting summer enrichment opportunities for your new kindergartner!

On our Play 2 Learn @home web page, parents and caregivers will find videos and resources that model and support them on their educational journey with their children. When you include these fun activities in your weekly routine, your child will be getting ready for a successful start!
GCPS Early Learning and School Readiness Pinterest Board: Check out this Pinterest board for a collection of resources on your childβs physical development, social/emotional development, academic development, and more!
Ready4KGA: If you have a mobile phone, ideas to help boost your childβs learning are just a text away! Developed by education researchers, Ready4KGAis a free text messaging program for parents of young children (ages birth to 5). Itβs easy to subscribe, just text GEORGIA to 70138, or sign up for Ready4KGA online. Each week, you will receive three age-specific texts with fun facts and easy tips on how to use everyday family activities to boost your childβs learning. Ready4KGA activities build on the things that you already do with your childβ like getting your child dressed, meal time, and bath timeβ to make boosting your childβs learning fast, fun, and easy. The service is available in both English and Spanish and the tips are customized for Georgia families.
