Gwinnett Student's Tardy Excuse: 'Failed To Rise Up'
Two classmates cited post-Super Bowl "Falcons depression" as the reason they were late to school Monday.

NORCROSS, GA — It was probably a bit of an epidemic in and around Atlanta on Monday.
But these students at Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross are the only ones we know who used the soul-crushing feeling Atlanta Falcons fans experienced Sunday night as official excuses.
On the school's tardy sign-in sheet Monday, one student listed the reason he or she was late as, "Failed To Rise Up."

"This might be our very favorite tardy excuse...ever," the school wrote on Facebook.
The root cause of the condition, of course, was the NFC Champion Falcons' 34-28 loss to the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. In gut-wrenching fashion, the loss came in a game that the Falcons once led by 25 points.

"Rise Up" has, for years now, been a Falcons team slogan.
At GAC, two other students on the tardy list cited "Falcons depression" as their excuse.
There was no official word on whether a Monday morning malaise, courtesy of Tom Brady and company, was accepted as an excused absence. But there's no doubt that lots of folks in Falcons Country can relate.
